Professional dress at the LVCCE

Welcome! We are glad that you are planning to come to the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Career Expo. In order to help you make a great first impression (and increase your chances of being interviewed and hired) we REQUIRE professional dress at this event. Check out the sample pictures (click to enlarge) and follow the guidelines below.

	You should always dress for the job that you want in the long run. While the workday dress code varies depending on the industry and type of work, it is always appropriate to wear a business suit to a job fair. If you don’t have a suit, try to mimic that professional look with conservative clothing. If you have any questions about whether your interview attire is appropriate, please contact your college's Career Services staff prior to the Expo for guidance.

The following are NOT permitted at the LVCCE • sneakers, Uggs, caps, jeans, sweats , mini-skirts or leggings • baggy or droopy pants, T-shirts, or low-cut tops • guests, parents, children or friends attending for moral support - you need to show your independence here (only candidates will be allowed entry) • food or drinks while you are talking with employers (your focus should be on getting information and sharing information about yourself) • a huge backpack or lots of baggage (you want to be comfortable and be able to move around easily) These guidelines are provided to help you present the best possible image to employers and to maintain the high level of professionalism that our participants expect. Bring plenty of resumes and a positive attitude. Good Luck!
